John Proctor (30 mars 1632 – 19 août 1692) était un fermier et un restaurateur dans le Massachusetts. Durant le procès des sorcières de Salem il a été accusé de sorcellerie, jugé et pendu.

Elizabeth (Thorndike) Proctor (1642 – 30 August 1672) was the second wife of John Proctor.

Elizabeth was born circa 1642-43 in Essex County, Massachusetts. She was the third child of John Thorndike and Elizabeth Stratton.

Prior to marrying Proctor, she was married first to Edmund Bassett. In December 1662, she married John Proctor in Ipswich. In 1666, they bought the former Downing farm and moved to had seven children. Elizabeth became ill shortly after the birth of her son, Thorndike Proctor, and she died on August 30, 1672, in Salem, Massachusetts.

Elizabeth Proctor (née Bassett; 1650 – after 1703) was convicted of witchcraft in the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. She was the wife of John Proctor, who was convicted and executed.

Her execution was postponed since she was pregnant. In 1693 the new governor, Sir William Phips, freed 153 prisoners, including Elizabeth. The widow Proctor remarried in 1699, to Daniel Richards. In 1703 she and her late husband John Proctor were granted a reversal of attainder by the Massachusetts legislature.
